Premium appliance brand V-ZUG of Switzerland is looking to bring the world of steam cooking to your kitchen. V-ZUG is a world leader in steam technology and offers a range of steam oven options including the Combi-Steam XSL, which one lucky KBB reader will have the chance to win. What’s more, money from every entry will support WaterAid to provide safe water and sanitation to communities in Africa, Asia, Central America and the Pacific.
At 45cm high, the XSL is compact in size but it boasts an internal cavity of 51 litres, giving a cavernous cooking space. It has an easy-to-fill water tank that lets you know when it’s running low, plus a number of special cooking programs. For example, Regeneration is a special combination of steam and hot air that enables you to warm up pre-prepared food without losing quality or moisture. ProfessionalBaking is a combination of steam and hot air that enables dough to rise and your bread to develop an appetising, gleaming crust. SoftRoasting automatically controls the core temperature of the meat, using a food probe, so whatever shape, composition and weight it will cook perfectly.
Steaming is a fast and healthy way to cook and when teamed with a combination oven you also get beautifully browned and appetising-looking dishes that are full of moisture and flavour. V-ZUG will be presenting the combi-steam oven to its trade customers at the KBB Birmingham Exhibition 2012 (www.kbb.co.uk), 4-7 March.
